| While tropical forests play an important role in the regeneration of the oxygen in the earth’s atmosphere, Picasso said that art cleanses man’s soul. The cleansing and regeneration of the human soul with the help of art are mostly combined with tranquillity and contemplation and, not least, a certain reflective mood. Reflections that ought to be promoted in view of what happens in our tropical forests, too. In such a manner, art can help preserve the «lungs of earth». For if art is the food of our souls and the human spirit, tropical forests help our earth breathe. |

| Daily, artists all over the world use nature as an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Now, «nature» as a source of inspiration is to be given something in return. Where it is most direly needed, where the earth needs intact nature most: in the tropical forests. The proceeds from the sale of museum admissions, works of art, and other events and campaigns are to prevent the destruction of tropical forests due to the felling of trees for timber and clearing the forest for grazing, and protect the habitat of the peoples, animals, and plants dwelling there in a lasting manner. Selected projects assessed and verified by experts of the Board of Trustees will be executed in collaboration with the submitting organizations. |
